The Frances Power Cobbe Circle The Frances Power Cobbe Circle honors friends of Emerge! who have established a planned gift through a bequest, trust, or other financial planning instrument.

Frances Power Cobbe was a leader and activist who shaped the way for domestic abuse protection before her time. She was instrumental in passing the Matrimonial Causes Act in 1878. This law allowed women in domestic abuse situations to separate from their husbands and keep their children if the husband was convicted, and the courts felt that the woman was in grave danger. Her work inspires the work we do every day.
